Hello
The Bonten gang is one of the gangs founded by Mikey, one of the main characters in this plot. He was the leader of the Tokyo Manji gang, the main one among all the gangs in Tokyo Revengers, but after incidents, he ended up diluting the gang and following a new path, recruiting new allies.
Thus, after defeating the Brahman gang and the Rokuhadara Tandai gang, the Boten gang was founded by Mikey, who wanted to make it the most feared organized criminal faction in Japan. Thus, in addition to crimes, the Boten gang also began to operate in the prostitution business, contract killings, fraud of numerous types of documents and in the illegal gambling business.
Of course, a criminal organization of this level needs loyal members to continue operating in so many illicit areas, so they do not tolerate traitors and informants. Loyalty to the gang above all else.
Ragnarok and Kodou Rengou
The Kanto region has always had to deal with crime from youth gangs, and the first major gang in the region was the Black Dragons. However, before the founding of this group, Kanto was divided into eastern and western regions, and both regions had their own gangs: the eastern side was led by Kodou Rengou, led by Imaushi Wakasa, and the eastern side was led by Ragnarok, led by Arashi Keizo.
Ragnarok was a gang that emerged from the union of 12 other smaller gangs, while Kodou Rengou also had several members, totaling approximately 600 people. Among all the gangs in Tokyo Revengers, the manga always portrayed these two gangs as cruel forces that were in frequent confrontations and disputes, but both ended up merging under the command of Sano Shinichiro.
Black Dragons
Of all the gangs in Tokyo Revengers, the Black Dragons are among the oldest and most influential gangs in Japan, with a total of 10 generations mentioned in the work. It is worth noting that this group emerged from the union of the Ragnarok and Kodou Rengou gangs, under the command of its founder, Sano Shinichiro.
In case you're not familiar with the series, Sano is Mikey's older brother and is always remembered for being a good and fair leader who maintained noble principles in his gang, avoiding involvement in criminal activities. However, when the Black Dragons reached their eighth generation, they began to leave moral principles aside and became known for being involved in criminality.
The leader responsible for diverting the principles of the Black Dragons was Izana Kurozawa, followed by Shion Madarame, of the ninth generation, continuing on the same dark path.
Moebius
The Moebius gang is another of the Tokyo Revengers gangs formed by young bikers who came together. It was founded by young people in the late 80s, led by Nobutaka Osanai. However, this gang had several internal conflicts and problems, so in 1990, they came to be led by the character Teta Kisaki.
The first Moebius group ended up being defeated by Tokyo Manji, Mike's gang, during a direct confrontation between them. This led to the dissolution of part of the group and, thus, Kisaki assumed the leadership of those who remained and used strategy to merge with Toman. By integrating the new group, the Sixth Division of Tokyo Manji was created.
Kanto Manji
At one point in the story, the Tokyo Manji gang was dismantled by the protagonist of the story, Takemichi Hanagaki. This ended up leading to a dark period in the Tokyo region, as the gangs were now fighting for power and control of activities. Among all the gangs in Tokyo Revengers during this period, 3 stood out the most and Kanto Manji was among them.
Founded and led by Mikey, this new group of delinquents was much more violent than Tokyo Manji and was able to defeat several other gangs during this period, which became known as the "Tokyo Sengoku Period", from 2006 to 2008. The fact that Kanto Manji defeated the other major gangs brought the Era of the Three Entities to an end, giving rise to a new gang, Bonten.
Valhalla
After the disbandment of the Moebius gang, the Valhalla gang was created by remaining members who decided not to join Teta Kisaki and Toman. Thus, Valhalla was led by Shuji Hanma, who harbored a deep desire to avenge the defeat by Mikey's group. With around 300 members at its peak, Valhalla became one of the main gangs among all Tokyo Revengers, in this first phase.
But as the story unfolds, we discover that Hanma was just a pawn in the gangs' game and the real leader of this group was Kisaki himself. The antagonist's goal was to pretend to be allying himself with Toman, to get closer to Mikey, but in reality, he wanted to dominate the underworld of crime.
Brahman
Of all the gangs in Tokyo Revengers, Brahman left its mark on its generation for being one of the most feared and with the distinction of being led by a woman! Senju Kawaragi is the leader of the gang, which was founded during the “Sengoku Period”, in 2006. During this period, the three major gangs were: Brahman, Kanto Manji and Rokuhara Tandai, who fought among themselves to take over the power that previously belonged to Toman.
In addition to Senju's leadership, the group also included Takeomi (Senju's brother) and members of the first generation of the Black Dragons. Later, Takemichi Hanagaki and Draken joined the gang as members, aiming to save Mikey, before he sank into the darkness that surrounded him. But the Kanto Manji gang ended up defeating Brahman and Rokuhara Tandai, giving rise to the Bonten gang later.
Rokuhara Tandai
Among all the gangs in Tokyo Revengers during the “Sengoku Period”, Rokuhara Tandai was ranked third among the Three Deities. This gang was founded by the character South Terano and not much is known about its activities or number of members. The information we have is that its founder was a young man who had been released from a child detention center in 2007, but soon after perished in the conflict in which Kanto Manji emerged victorious.
Tenjiku
Tenjiku became one of the most feared gangs in the Yokohama region, with activities that closely resembled the Yakuza in reality. Founded by Kurokawa and members of the former S-62 Generation, this was the largest group of juvenile delinquents in Kanagawa and had the help of Teta Kisaki on several occasions, aiming to get revenge on Mikey.
In the future, Tenjiku underwent a transformation and became an international non-profit organization that sought to help underprivileged orphaned youth who were facing hardships.
S-62 Generation
This is a specific gang that didn't get much attention in the series. However, it deserves to be on our list of all the gangs in Tokyo Revengers. The S-62 Generation was founded in a juvenile prison by the characters Kurokawa Izana, Muto Yasuhiro, Mochizuki Kanji, and Haitani. This group was often involved in drug trafficking and many other highly criminal activities.
Tokyo Manji / Toman
Tokyo Manji is the main one among all the gangs in Tokyo Revengers, as it is she who becomes the focus of the plot for much of the anime. Its characters are the main ones, such as Takemichi, Mikey, Draken, Mitsuya, Kazutora, Baji and Pa-chin, who were initially a group of friends who, to protect themselves against gangs of older people, decided to unite.
Years pass and Toman soon becomes one of the largest gangs in the region, in addition to gaining the respect of other youth groups. Despite having started with just a few members, it didn't take long for Tokyo Manji to gather over 100 members, divided into 5 divisions. What started as a youth group, in the future is one of the most dangerous criminal organizations in the series' universe.
Toman 2017
Completely different from the Tokyo Manji we met at the beginning of the anime, the Toman of the future stands out among all the gangs in Tokyo Revengers for being one of the most violent and brutal in Japan. Led by an emotionally destroyed, lost and dark Mikey, directly influenced by Kisaki, Toman became involved in criminal activities of the worst kind.
What was once a youth group with rules and morals has become a Yakuza-like group, engaging in prostitution, gambling, money laundering and contract killings.
Of course, the Tokyo Revengers universe is extremely broad and it is possible that there are other small gangs that did not receive much attention in the work. But all the main gangs in Tokyo Revengers that drive the main plot were mentioned here and had their stories detailed and presented.
