10 - Sakazuki (Akainu)
Admiral of the Navy, Akainu (also known as Sakazuki) is considered to be one of the strongest characters in One Piece, as well as one of the most influential in the franchise. As well as being in control of the Navy, he is also a user of Akuma no Mi, which gives him the ability to turn his body into boiling lava.
One of the fights that served to show his full power was against Whitebeard, where he bravely resisted the powers and attacks of his legendary opponent. Not only that, but he can also use two forms of Haki, Kenbunshoku Haki and Busoshoku Haki.
9 - Marshall D. Teach (Blackbeard)
Blackbeard is a former crew member of the Whitebeard Pirates and set up his own crew after the death of his captain. Teach is one of the strongest characters in One Piece and one of the most feared in the entire series. He was once one of the members of the four Yonkou and is the only character in the entire series who is in possession of the power of two Akuma no Mi: one that gives him the power to create black holes that attract objects to him and the other to create earthquakes.
The second Akuma no Mi was Whitebeard's, but after his death, he took it for himself. In addition, Blackbeard is also a Haki user and masters two of these abilities: Kenbunshoku Haki and Busoshoku Haki.
8 - Charlotte Linlin (Big Mom)
Charlotte Linlin, the strongest female character in One Piece! Also called Big Mom, the character is a Yonkou and the bearer of an Akuma no Mi, the Soru Soru no Mi, of the Paramecia type. She is among the strongest characters in One Piece because of her incredible ability to take pieces of people's souls and pass them on to lifeless objects.
Big Mom is captain of her own crew, all of whom are very loyal and considered her children. But her powers are not limited to her Akuma no Mi, as Charlotte also has control of Haki and uses the Kenbunshoku Haki, Busoshoku Haki and Haoshoku Haki.
7 - Kaido (King of the Beasts)
Kaido is the Emperor of Wano and also known as the Captain of the Beast Pirates, having eaten a Akuma no Mi which gives him the ability to transform into a dragon! Thus, he is recognized as the "strongest creature" in the franchise and is among the strongest characters in One Piece.
He's also one of the four Yonkou, but he stands out for his physical endurance, strength and the difficulty of defeating him. What's more, he has an entire crew who have consumed the Devil Fruit and possess impressive powers! But Kaido doesn't limit himself to his Uo Uo no Mi, he is also a powerful Haki user and masters three of them: Kenbunshoku Haki, Busoshoku Haki and Haoshoku Haki.
6 - Monkey D. Dragon
Monkey D. Dragon is the father of Luffy, the protagonist of the series, as well as being the leader of the revolutionary army and one of the strongest characters in One Piece. He hasn't shown his full power yet, but he is known by the title of "world's worst criminal" or "world's most wanted"!
His strength and abilities have been compared several times to those of the Yonkou themselves, even though the book doesn't delve any deeper into his career as a pirate.
5 - Shanks (the Redhead)
Shanks was the first pirate to cross Luffy's path, being a kind of mentor to the little boy, who dreamed of being a pirate too. He is described as one of the strongest characters in One Piece, being one of the most legendary and a member of the four Yonkou, the most powerful pirates in the New World! His crew is known as the "Redheaded Pirates", precisely because of his nickname.
We don't know for sure the extent of his abilities and physical capabilities, but he was one of the members of Gol D. Roger's crew. What we do know about his powers is that he is a powerful Haki user, mastering all of the following: Kenbunshoku Haki, Busoshoku Haki and Haoshoku Haki.
4 - Monkey D. Garp
A Vice Admiral in the Navy, Monkey D. Garp is known worldwide for being the hero who managed to arrest Gol D. Roger, the legendary Pirate King! Garp is also the father of Monkey D. Dragon and grandfather of Luffy, our beloved protagonist of the series.
He is recognized as one of the strongest characters in One Piece for his superhuman strength, an example of which is that he was able to crush eight mountains with his physical strength alone! And not only his strength, but Garp is also a Haki user, with Busoshoku Haki and Kenbunshoku Haki.
3 - Rocks D. Xebec
Rocks D. Xebec is so powerful that some of the strongest characters in One Piece have been his subordinates at some point in history. Blackbeard, Kaido and Big Mom are just a few examples of pirates who have been part of his legendary crew!
We know little about this character's abilities, but it was clear that he was the main rival of Gol D. Roger, the King of the Pirates. It took an alliance between Roger, the Navy and Monkey D. Garp for Xebec to be defeated.
2 - Edward Newgate (Whitebeard)
Edward Newgate, popularly known in the One Piece universe as Whitebeard, became known as "the strongest man in the world" in the legends and stories of the series. As the captain of the "Whitebeard Pirates" crew, he rose to even greater prominence after Gol D. Roger died and the race for One Piece began!
Newgate was the pirate who came closest to conquering One Piece, mainly because of his fighting skills and because he consumed an Akuma no Mi - the Gura Gura no Mi - which gave him the ability to create several earthquakes whenever he wanted. His Devil Fruit has already been recognized as one of those with the ability to destroy the world! After Whitebeard's death, another pirate stole his power.
As well as Akuma no Mi, Whitebeard was also a Haki user, which helped make him one of the strongest characters in One Piece. These include: Kenbunshoku Haki, Busoshoku Haki and Haoshoku Haki.
1 - Roger's goal
Called the King of Pirates, Gol D. Roger is the key character in the entire history of One Piece, as he was the man who made countless unimaginable conquests. Roger was established as the strongest character of all time within the One Piece franchise and was an inspiration to Luffy, despite being captured and killed by the Navy.
He was responsible for the start of the great pirate era in the series! Few characters in the series are known to have fought against Roger, but among them are: Monkey D. Garp, Whitebeard and Rocks D. Xebec. He is the top one of the strongest characters in One Piece, as reports suggest that he has been able to single-handedly defeat several armies from various countries at his best.
He used the Haki: Busoshoku Haki, Kenbunshoku Haki and Haoshoku Haki.

As with all anime, it's very important to get to know the strongest characters in One Piece, not least so that we can follow the evolution of the main cast with their achievements. It's normal in these works that, little by little, the protagonist overcomes the strongest and with the story of Eiichiro Oda is no different, after all, Luffy's power is constantly evolving.
